Ayios Ioannis Cathedral was built by Archbishop Nikiforos in 1662, and dedicated to Ayios Ioannis Theologos, (Saint John Theologian). Inside the cathedral, the 18th century paintings depict various scenes from the Bible, and one of which includes Saint Barnabas tomb, when it was discovered at Salamis.
