ANCIENT CITY OF AMATHUS & ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE
The Ancient City of Amathus & Archaeological Site,Limassol, Cyprus.

11 Kilometers East of Limassol Town centre, (near The Amathus Hotel).

According to mythology, the Ancient City of Amathus was where Theseus left the pregnant Ariadne to be taken care of, after his battle with the Minotaur. It is also the very place where the cult of Aphrodite-Astarte flourished.

 
 
AYIOS GEORGIOS OF ALAMANOU CONVENT (THE CONVENT OF SAINT GEORGE)
Ayios Georgios of Alamanou Convent, Limassol, Cyprus.

Off the Nicosia-Limassol road, 19 Kilometers from Limassol.

Founded in the 12th century, this 800 year old convent is dedicated to Saint George.

 
KOURION ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE & MUSEUM

The Ancient City-Kingdom of Kourion is one of the most spectacular archaeological sites in Cyprus, where excavations are still bringing new treasures to light.

The magnificent Greco-Roman Theatre was originally built in the 2nd century B.C, but has since undergone a full restoration. Today, it is the main venue for various theatrical and musical performances.
 
 
LIMASSOL CASTLE - CYPRUS MEDIAEVAL MUSEUM
Kolossi Castle, Limassol, Cyprus.

14 Kilometers west of the Limassol-Paphos road.

A fine example of military architecture, the Kolossi Medieval Castle was first constructed in the 13th century, and then rebuilt in its present form in the middle of the 15th century.

SANCTUARY OF APOLLO HYLATES
The Sanctuary of Apollo Hylates, Limassol, Cyprus.

3 Kilometers west of Kourion, on the road to Paphos.

Apollo Hylates, God of the Woodland, was the protector of the city of Kourion.
The cult of Apollo was celebrated here from the 8th century B.C. to the 4th century AD.
